I really really want Brandon Austin. Not sure if we can get him, but his game would compliment Chambers' coaching so well. A 6-6 SF who can handle the rock as good as some PGs, with slashing ability to the basket. Needs to improve his jumper, but in the offense Pat runs, a slasher with some good shooters on the floor would be deadly.

If Chambers can get Brandon Austin it would be unbelievable.  It would be a huge moment for this program.

Love that Geno's really selling the program to other players. And look where he's from people, that'd be huge!

Might not look like much, but Jeter's team was down 3 starters and had a 3 player bench, two of whom are freshmen.

Turns out they were shorthanded due to a fight that broke out leading up to gameday.  One Beaver Falls player was charged after he stabbed a kid from the opposing school.  Other players were suspended.

Glad Sheldon wasn't involved.

Fight involved some basketball players, but was not related to basketball or any game. The young man involved in the stabbing was removed from the team. The other players were suspended for two games. The starting center received two technical fouls the game before and, by PIAA rule, had to sit out the next game. Everyone is back starting today. Jeter has matured into a true leader this year. I'd bet he's spoken to the players involved as well as his other teammates.

This is great.  I'm thrilled with the way things have started under Chambers and it will be fun to watch the program as he builds it.  I think there will be some great years ahead.

Austin, Thorpe and Jeter as well as the 3 incoming players are all different types of players.  Looks like they can make a nice combination!!

Went to Ambridge for the Pgh Basketball Club tournament.

Thorpe had 14 for Shaler in their 3 pt win. You can tell he's a good athlete and fast. He made a few bad decisions with the ball, but did hit 2 big FTs near the end of the game to help seal the win.

A big crowd to see Adams. He's a big boy, but I didn't notice a lot of quickness or ability to play above the rim. He blocked some shots and had about 3 put back dunks, but not much threat on offense. He's raw and will take at least a few years to develop in college. Would have been fun to see him and NDP matched against Watson and Lincoln Park instead.

Jeter had an okay game facing a 2-3 zone. He had 30 (of 73) points both from inside, outside and FTs in a 20 point win.

Checked out that Legends Classic at Ambridge today and thought I would share my thoughts.

Geno- looked fluid with the ball in his hands, very good handle. Lincoln Park pressed the entire game, very few times he became flustered and turned the ball over. Very quick with the ball in his hands and getting to the hoop, problem today was when you try to finish over a 7 footer like watson, you're gonna have some troubles. His shoot seemed a bit off today, but he had a positive impact still. Also, he had a couple of really nice blocks on the defensive end, as he can really get up. Actually blocked Watson clean the one time, unreal to block a 7 footer like that.

Jeter- I thought he looked like a man amongst boys today if you ask me. Granted, Sharon was a smaller, quicker team who stuck to a zone for pretty much the entire game. But, Sheldon did it all. He scored frequently, knocking down 3's, hitting mid range jumpers, getting offensive putbacks. Rebounded like a machine, had some real nice blocks on the defensive end and also a couple of steals, which I think 2 he took coast to coast and finished very impressively.

I've seen Jeter a couple of times now this season, and he would be a great get for Chambers and staff. I feel he could have an immediate impact next year if we were to get him. Didn't notice any of our coaches there, which troubled me a little considering Pitt, Duquesne, Syracuse, and Temple were all represented throughout the day. Of course they were there for different reasons, but still it seemed like a golden opportunity to catch two of our recruits/targets on the same day/same place.

Little tidbit I'd like to share with you all that happened after the game. My dad went up to Sheldon's mother and told her that her son is a really nice player and that he enjoyed to watch him play in the area for the past 4 years. She was very grateful, and pointed to his Penn State shirt and said "That's a good school". Never hurts to hear something like that from the mother  :D

Jeter's dad also likes Penn State's large alumni community for son's future networking purposes. Don't hear that too often, I would guess.

I was watching St. Benedict's vs Constitution, and I saw Isaiah Briscoe play. Are we recruiting him at all? Only a freshman but had a very smooth game. Very solid offensively, and got a few steals if I remember correctly.
