Kid - this is what we are talking about when we say that Brooks' natural advantages are as a perimeter player (it isn't sitting out there shooting threes).
"They're able to do things off the dribble and they're able to go down low and be effective, so matching up against Georgia Tech, you would hope they would pull them out on the perimeter and do what they do best, which is getting around people."
Wasting your breath on me Lar. Preach to someone else. I've seen enough to make up my own mind. Now he's a good dribbler? Hmmm...must've missed that game(s). What he does best is dunk, run, jump, rebound, block, reach. Watch what's going on between the whistles Lar, you learn much, much more. I'll read who said that as you didn't post it, but he's saying G Tech is big, so pull them outside. Yeah, I agree, but pulling them outside and going around them is best done by the guys who do it best, not the guys who don't.
Alright, read the articles. I said in previous threads he should be good in transition and underneath. I also said he should play within 15', not treys. Okay, you want to call that a perimeter player, go ahead. I don't. It's unusual in that vs. G Tech they say he should draw slower defenders out, to which I'd agree to no further than 15', maybe closer. But then, in the other article, they say this....
Against an undersized Towson squad on Saturday, the Louisville, Ky. native could be seen pushing the ball upcourt and driving to the basket when the opportunities arose....kind of saying against big teams play outside, and vs. undersized teams he should er, play outside? Shouldn't he be pushing the ball upcourt and driving to the basket vs. the big, slow teams and be dominating on the boards vs. the undersized teams?
