"Although the Pitt-Penn State football series was halted in 2000, there is reason to believe the longstanding relationship between the two men's basketball programs could continue beyond this year, when the current contract expires.

"Both coaches are open to the idea of keeping the series going after today's matchup at Petersen Events Center.
